FlyersRights.org on July 12, 2019 filed its opening brief against the Department of Transportation (DOT) in federal litigation over its failure to ensure that airlines accurately inform passengers of their rights to delay compensation in international travel. Due to DOT’s inaction, few passengers know that the Montreal Convention of 1999 (ratified by the US in 2003) provides passengers with flight delay compensation of up to $5700 on international trips.
