June 7, 2017 | Andrew Appelbaum The FAA Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee (ARAC) will be meeting on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM to discuss regulatory repeals. Paul Hudson is a voting member of the committee and will be attending the meeting. At the meeting, representatives from the airlines, manufacturers, unions, Flyers Rights, and other groups will be discussing the creation of a list of regulations to repeal. Representatives have already submitted their own lists of regulations to repeal. In total, there are approximately 500 safety related regulations that members of the committee want repealed. Flyers Rights has proposed repealing several anti-competitive regulations. These regulations inhibit construction of the new airports that are needed to relieve air traffic congestion. Additionally, Flyers Rights is proposing to repeal regulations that allow air carriers to seek exemptions from reporting requirements.
